⇒ used to express a threat to punish or a threatening reproach (sometimes the interlocutor's last word or remark is repeated):

- I'll teach (show) you (him etc)!;

- I'll give it to you (him etc)!;

- [when part of the interlocutor's statement is repeated only] don't even think about...!;

- don't you dare...!

     ♦ "А ты, Захарка, пострелёнок, куда опять бежишь? - кричал потом [барин]. - Вот я тебе дам бегать!.. Пошёл назад, в прихожую!" (Гончаров 1). "And you, Zakharka, where are you running off to, you little scamp?" he [the master] shouted. "I'll teach you to run!...Back to the hall with you!" (1b).

     ♦ "Мне, Гришка, обидно..." - "Ну?" - "Да как же, - Митька длинно ругнулся, - он не он, сотник, так и задаётся... Я ему покажу!" (Шолохов 2). "It riles me, Grishka." "What does?" "Well, look!" Mitka swore at great length. "The way he shows off just because he's a lieutenant. ...I'll show him!" (2a).
